Happy Holidays

Today was such a rush. We almost forgot to BLOG! Thank goodness for gym and music, to burn off some energy, before our holiday party. Today, the kids got a new book, lots of treats, and played a couple games. Afterward we watched the movie, "Up," as an entire fifth grade. It was a great movie.

I hope everyone has a happy holiday. Travel safe, and enjoy the time with you families. If you are competing in the Geo Bee (January 14), don't forget to study for it!! Find a good book to read over break. See you in 2010.

Today we had a day 4. some of us finished our paintings. we saw a movie about sapce shuttles and rockets! i thought it was great! we shared our book reports during reading today. We also began studying linking verbs during English. today we have macoroni and cheese for our lunch. then followed by a. after recess we will have math. we will present our graphs that we made. then at the end of the day we clean up and do dismissal. have another great day :[) bye-bye

Today we had a day 3. in specials we goofed up and accidentally went to the computer lab when we were suppose to go to library. In library we had hot chocolate! it was delicious! Today we also had social studies from 9:00-10:00. at 10 o'clock, we had our Geo-bee to find contestants. In team study we are doing our book reports. After that we go down stairs for a delicious lunch followed by a relaxing recess! In math today we will be finishing our knights of Columbus math test. Then we will present our graphs. and lastly in math we will finish chapter 5! Have a good day! :[)

We forgot to fill out our agendas today, so I wanted to remind everyone to get their book reports done by Tuesday. Great job working on the secret projects today, and thanks for cleaning up the room. Have a great weekend!

Fun Day!!

Today we had a very,very fun day. First, we had music and Phys.Ed. In gym we did played basketball. We had fun. After that we indulged in a spelling test. The teachers will then pick the best spellers in our grade for a spelling bee. After that we went to math. Once we finished that we began our code red operation. Parents, you are in for a treat. By the way, our sing along rocked outloud!! Now, after recess we will finish up our code red operation we will get free time.

The most fo-shizzlen' day around

Today was wa exciting! One thing that took place today day was well,what was exciting today?Oh yeah we were practicing our skizzles for our fo-shizzlen' winter sing along in music class.The most fo-shizzliest part of the day is that we don't have math!!haza!!(which in mid evil times means Shaw!)(Shaw means hooray.)Also we have almost concluded the preparation for our code red,top secret,highly classified super secret awesome activity!!redundant I know! now toward the end of the day 1:15 to be exact we shall have our winter program that i mentioned earlier.We are hoping that things will go as planned.oh yeah, we shall have lunch which is cheese quesdilla.or, in the words of Napoleon Dynamite"a dang quesadilla". Now we can't go out to recess the last few days because it has been cold. but today we are all gussied up so we don't want to get dirty or nohtin'.well,have a fo-shizzlen' day!

Today we did lots of interesting activities. Well, we had music and gym. In music we were practicing for our winter sing along. That was sort of fun. Most of us were pretty tired, but we got through it. In gym we practiced our basketball skizzles (skills). In science we took a test on ecosystems. Most of us did pretty good. We began a new read aloud, called Matilida. During read aloud we continued to work on our TOP SECRET CODE RED PROJECT. We read our guided reading books on our own today. Most of our class almost finished their current book. In English we reviewed direct objects, and began studying main and helping verbs. Lunch was off the heezee. We are getting ready to go to math in a few minutes.

In an effort to give your children an opportunity to learn and use the various types of technologies available to them, I have added a new tool to our classroom. We will be using a lap top computer to do a daily blog of the various happenings in our room. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what a blog is, it is an online journal used in a variety of ways to communicate personal ideas with everyone. As stated before, our blog will be used as a communication tool from us to you. We will also use it as a start up page to access other links that we will begin using in our classroom. One such link is www.edmodo.com, which will serve as our class discussion board. We will be using this website to communicate, with each other, about various topics we are discussing in the classroom; such as guided reading books or scientific ideas. In order to get this site up and running, your child will be given a Gaggle account, which is a school safe email account. I hope to begin introducing these three new classroom components by the year 2010. If you have any questions or comments, please direct them to me. This should be a great adventure and learning experience.

Welcome to our classroom blog. The reason it is called "The B223 Blogger," is because our room number is B223. You can probably figure out the rest. This blog will be used as a tool to communicate to each other, and our families. The goal is to update it often, and keep everyone informed of what is happening in room B223.
