Spring Break Is Here!

Good Morning. "The students have left the building." Today we had an early release. I do not know who was more excited for the extra long break, the kids or teachers? This morning we had art. Everyone got to bring home their pottery project, along with some oragami. After specials we had our end of 3rd quarter incentive for late slips and yellow caution cards. As a reward, the children got a hour long recess. Although it was cold, they all had fun. After a short lunch we did a classroom version of "Spring Cleaning," so that we are ready to go on April 5. It is hard to believe that 3/4 of the year is done. The rest of the year is sure to be a lot of fun, and filled with the anticipation of becoming a middle schooler.

One day until break!

Today for specials we had library and computer. We had a smooth time in library so we got free time in computer! horray! we finally get a break... Then we had social studies. In social studies we took more "bhhive" notes as usual. we had no word study! yay! After that, we read the story "oceans". It was mostly about water and waves and stuff like that. Then we had fun drawing/painting some pictures that have to do with water. For lunch today, we are having happy birthday! And today we celebrated Gabbie's birthday! She brought some donutss for all of us. Thank-you for the DONUTS Gabbie! Well that was a special report with Bronson and Gabbie. Thank-you for reading!

wierdo wednesday

This morning we went to gym then music. We had equipment day and we were forced to sing Aura Lee. Then we had science and worked with magnets and how they work. After that we had snack and finished the book people of sparks then started Diamond of Dark Hold. After snack we turned in our compare and contrast venn diagrams. Then we had to finish our our packets and turn them in. After that we took a word study quiz. Now its team study then we have lunch then recess and finally math.

Today for speacils we had gym and music. For music we sang a song for our consert, and we played our recorders. For gym we played games. One of the games was steal the ball. The point of the game is that you have to get the ball on the other side of the gym and if you get tagged you are out. For science we took notes on "Where does energy come from." After that we had snack. Today is Colton's brithday. He brought in cookies. Next in reading we read "Summer of Fire." It was about fires in Yellowstone National Park. For word study we have to do a written spelling sort with a partner. Next we have lunch, which is cheese quesdilla, and then out for recess. After that we will have math.

FINALLY FRIDAY!

We would like to begin by apologizing for forgetting to blog yesterday!

First we finished glazing our clay projects in art class. Mr. Kralap will put them in the kiln in the next few days. In social studies we checked over our notes on the Carolina's and finished Georgia. In reading we began reading the short story "Summer of Fire." It is about lightning striking Yellowstone National Park in 1988. We played word games during word study. We are going to lunch soon. After that we have math...bummer. Have a good weekend!

St. Patrick's Day - Wednesday

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Have you had a lucky day? Today Mr. Hendricks is back. We began the day by going to specials. We had gym and music. In gym we had game day. In music we played our recorders and sung the song "Yesterday," by the Beatles. We are singing it at our spring concert. After music we had social studies. In social studies we got our tests back. People did a good job. We also began studying Maryland and the Carolina's. Maryland was founded by the Calverts. After social studies we got to go outside for 15 minutes for a free recess, because we got a good report from Mrs. Fredrickson. In English we talked about our persuasive paragraphs. Today we had a presentation by Patrick Allen, who is a Civil Engineer. He designs roads and bridges. We learned a lot. We had shamrock chicken nuggets for lunch. It is really nice out, so let's wrap this up! Math is next. Blog to you tomorrow!

Good morning blog readers. Today Mr. Hendricks was grading papers from other schools so we had Mrs Fredrickson.When we got here in the morning we did our D.O.L. Then we went to specials. For specials we had Computer and C.A.Ls. In computer we finished our compare/contrast essay. In C.A.Ls we got team study. In science we took a science vocab test. It was a crossword puzzle. Then we took a test in reading on our story Earthquake Terror. After that we worked on our persuasive writing. Then we did a blind sort. Now it's team study. Then off we go to lunch and recess. Then math.

Today we had music and gym. In music we are practicing the Beatles song "Yesterday," for our concert. In gym we got equipment day, which means FREE DAY! After we had social studies and some kids went to Mrs.Pamperin. In social studies we are working on bhivves about Maryland. In Mrs.Pamperin we blogged and read Marley and Me. Next we had reading. I n reading we did a vocabulary sheet and studied for a test. Then we had English and began a persuasive paragraph. Tonight in word study we have a spelling sort to do. Now we are getting ready to go to lunch and recess. After we will be attending math.

Today we had 2 hour delay so we didn't have specials or science. We did have to do D.O.L. though. We read part of the book, Earthquake Terror. We have to finish the story for homework and do a worksheet that involves the book. Right now we are sorting and oganizing all the parts from are science unit motion and design becuase we have to send it back to the einsteine company. After we're done we are going to lunch to eat figro's pizza.Yummy!!!:)

Winners Thursday started off with library and Computer. Do you like library and computer?In library we learned about a website called diigo.com which is an online bookmarking website.In computer we started working on our compare and contrasting essays.Do you like writing?After that we had social studies. we took a test on the the great wagon road. After that we had snack. Then we read out of our text books.We voted for driting of the week and Amy and Kiana won!!!Then we got ready for lunch and recess.Now we have math. goodbye.

Today was a day 2. We had Gym and music for our specials today. In gym we had fitness day. In music we had a visitor from Sunnyside to watch us today. Also we did the rest of the green apple belt for our recorder karate. My favorite ...science. Science was soooooooo fun! We had to do challenge A,B,C,D,E. Some of our classmates cars didn't work very well. We had a late snack. Some people worked on their reading assignments. Then we had the worst part of the day. For you we won't tell you too much. Today was normal day we started out with D.O.L . Then Mrs.B came up to our class room to take a survey about what we might have for a career when we get older then she took us down to the computer lab to go on a website to see what career choices we have and how much money we would make if we decided to have that job. In social studies we took a quiz on Philadelphia then started notes on the Great Wagon Trail.The kids that go to Mrs.Pamperin they are reading Marley and Me the book is about this dog that is not a normal dog.Then we had snack and read out loud. After that we had reading and we learned about Peekskill meteor.last we had word study and we had to do a my sort. Then we had English and worked on our compare and contrast essays. then we had team study we were working on our homework. We had lunch now its recess.Finally we have math and we are working with fractions

mad monday(not)

today was monday.waaa!!!it wasn't that bad actually we started the day out with physical education.not my cup of tea!!actually i could have used a cup of coffee!!then we went to music.we did some "stuff'" with recorders.then we went to science.we had a race with our cars that we built.we use propellors to power them.we had guided reading.we all have different books we are asigned to read.after that we engaged in some awesome writing action!!we went all jackie chan on it and got alot done.kendall says that jackie chan rocks.as if!!those movies are so twenty years ago!!we are hetting of track.now we are having team study.then lunch,then math!yaaaaaaaay!!more fractions!!haza!!later!!

Pajama Day Thursday

Today is pajama day at school, as part of "Read Across America" week. Today in library Mrs. Gee read the Dr. Seuss story "Remember the First of Octember." We also had to take a school census, to learn about our school community. In computer we got free time, because the P Drive was not working (thank you P Drive)! After specials we had science. In science today we re-built our cars to include propellers. They make the car go very fast, as long as you wind them up very tight. Watch the video below to see. Today we took a quiz in Word Study. Afterwards we got to DROP EVERYTHING AND READ! We got to read for about 35 minutes. It was scary silent. In English we continued to work on our compare and contrast essays. Mr. Hendricks taught us how to make our introduction paragraph. The whole class did very good. Now we are getting ready for lunch. Today is Taco's! We are trying to get ready early! After lunch is math as usual. More fraction work...BLAH!

Today we went to gym and music. In gym we played hockey on floor scooters. In music talked about the "Star Spangled Banner" and went back to the homeroom. Then we went to social studies and worked on the D.O.G. We listened to People of Sparks while eating snack. Now we are working on our animal compare and contrast essays. We are going to lunch and recess soon. Afterwards it is back to work on multiplying fractions in math. See ya later.

Today we had computers and homeroom. For computers we studied Dr. Seuss, because it is his birthday. For homeroom we worked on shamrocks for the door. Today in Science we tried out our cars with sails on them. Some cars worked really great and others did not. We read Dr. Seuss books for guided reading. We worked on setting up our comparing and contrasting paper during English. And right now we are having team study. Then we are going to have chicken nuggets, folloewed by reccess. So that leaves math to get out of the way then we can go home!

Today we went to music and worked on our recorder belts, and in gym we played another game of hockey. It was girls vs. girls and guys vs. guys. We went to social studies and learned about Philadelphia years ago. Then we had a yummy snack, and read a little bit of People of Sparks. Then we had guided reading and we had to read as much as much as we could in 30 minutes. During English we worked on our compare and contrast essays by making venn-diagrams. We had to do blind sorts for word study.
